Family Pictures & Fidgeting Toddlers

Have you ever wanted to get Family Pictures but you don’t want to “waste” the money since you don’t think your kids will hold still? As a mom of three, I’ve been there. Take it from me as a mom and photographer- book the photos anyways! Here are the top three reasons to take the photos anyways!

Your kids are only this little once. Yes, toddlers can be chaotic and not stand still. But in those candid moments of movements, random outburst of giggles and laughter your toddler is being just that- a toddler. As a family photographer I love capturing those little moments the most because they are the pictures you will look back on and remember as being real life.
Family Photography isn’t about perfect poses. Everyone loves the Christmas card worthy family photo where the family looks straight out of a magazine. But every photo you take doesn’t have to be “perfect”. Family photographer know the best prompts to help your toddler get their energy out, focus and cooperate that will still give you great photos to hang on your walls- or that Christmas card.
Your kids need pictures with you in them, too! As a mom I know how easy it is to take 1,000 images of your child only to realize you aren’t in any of them. One day your kids will want to see YOU in their childhood. I love looking back on photos of my mom with us as babies because I don’t remember- but a photograph is a memory frozen in time.

Life can be chaotic when you have small children. But in the middle of the chaos there is beauty of a toddler’s chubby hands in yours, a deep belly laugh and the best “I love you” hugs that only come from a little child. Put those memories into a photograph so that as the small details of life fade in your mind, you have a forever memory to look back on and to pass down to your grandchildren.
